Hostage incident in Nigeria - Abducted workers released

(RT) - 7 Australians among hostages liberated from Boko Haram in Nigeria - employer Macmahon Holdings Limited, an Australian mining and construction company, has said in a statement that its seven employees taken hostage by Boko Haram militants in Nigeria on June 22, 2016, have been freed.
Five of the seven are said to be injured, two of them seriously. Macmahon CEO, Sy van Dyk, praised the efforts made by the Nigerian authorities in freeing the hostages. On Sunday, the Nigerian Army said it had liberated around 5,000 people during raids conducted over the weekend in some 15 villages in the northeast of the country.
