How to make donuts

Ingredients

·         Yeast: 2 tablespoons

·         Warm water: a quarter cup

·         Milk: one and a half cups

·         Sugar: 12 cup

·         Salt: 1 teaspoon

·         Eggs: 2 tablets

·         Margarine: 1/3 cup (vegetable butter)

·         Flour: 5 cups

·         Oil: copious (for frying)

·         Butter: 1/3 cup

·         Powdered sugar: 2 cups

·         Vanilla: 1 teaspoon

·         Hot water: 4 tablespoons

Donut preparation method

·         Put the flour in a bowl with the yeast and stir to mix them together.

·         Add the butter, rub it with flour, and make sure not to leave any lumps.

·         We add sugar and salt and mix them, then make a hole in the middle, add eggs and milk in the center of the hole, then mix using a flat plastic spoon until the ingredients are completely mixed. Using our hands, we make a ball from the mixture.

·         Spread some flour on the surface of the work table and rub the dough over it for about 5 minutes until the dough becomes completely smooth.

·         We put the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with nylon paper and leave it to inflate at room temperature for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.

·         With our fingers, we gently press the dough to release the air from it and extend it so that it becomes 1 cm thick, then cut it into 6 cm circles and cut a hole in the middle of each circle.

·         Sprinkle a nylon sheet with a little flour and transfer the donut circles to it, then cover the circles of the dough with lightly greased nylon paper to prevent sticking, and leave the dough to rise for 30-60 minutes until the size of the dough doubles.

·         We put the oil in a frying pan and heat it to 190 degrees Celsius, and start frying the donuts in batches, (so that we do not fry more than 2 or 3 donuts at one time) until they have a beautiful golden brown color on both sides. Remove the donuts from the skillet using a perforated spoon and line them up on kitchen paper.

·         Put the sugar on a plate and pass the donuts in it until the donut pieces are completely covered with sugar on all sides.
